Michelle is responsible for corporate communications for the Orlando Utilities Commission  (OUC — The Reliable One). OUC is the 14th largest municipal electric and water utility in the United States, serving the City of Orlando and parts of Orange and Osceola counties. At the commission, she oversees all internal and external corporate communications, media relations, digital and social media, and customer education.

Previously, she oversaw digital content for Florida Hospital where she established an overarching content strategy to guide how content was planned, written, published and distributed for the organization’s digital marketing efforts.

Additionally, Michelle oversaw two volume-driving publications and a lecture series for the health care system’s Central Florida hospitals. Prior to her career with Florida Hospital, Michelle was responsible for marketing and media relations for Orlando Health, including Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando Health Lucerne Hospital, Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital, Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital, Orlando Health Dr. Phillips Hospital, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the former M. D. Anderson Cancer Center Orlando, now UF Health Cancer Center — Orlando Health.

Active in the Central Florida community, Michelle has served as a volunteer for Florida Hospital, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the Dick Batchelor Run for the Children. She has served as Vice President of Communications on the Public Relations Society of America Orlando chapter board of directors and for the University of Florida Alumni Association board of directors.

Michelle earned a master’s degree in Mass Communication from UF’s College of Journalism and Communications, where she also served as a graduate assistant in the Office of the President, and a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Alabama.

Under her guidance, her team at Florida Hospital received the Public Relations Society of America’s Bronze Anvil Award in 2014, one of PRSA’s highest accolades for excellence in printed publications.

She also has received numerous awards from the Florida Hospital Association and Florida Public Relations Association for various marketing and public relations campaigns.
